Victory is sweeter especially if it is hard earned!
This is the learning that our Taekwondo players have realized. With one gold, one silver, one bronze and two semi-final berths are already victories worthy to be thankful for as 3 of the four athletes are first timers in the nationals. Xander Palacpac, our consistent national qualifier has once again brought honor not just to Beaconhouse St. Paul but also to the Cebu City Team as he earned one gold and one silver, proving the mastery in Poomsae. Another Paulinian, Red Enzo Rubi, brought home a bronze medal. Even it was first time for Red to compete and with nerve racking pressure, still he was able to pull it through against 51 competitors. Two first timers in the person of Jai Zmik Daryl Ragay and Princess Zuleyka Aninon reached the semi-final berths against 50 competitors in their respective two events.
Indeed, with a heart like of a lion that is ready to conquer and with great faith, nothing is impossible! Parents have surmountable pressures as well especially seeing their children compete. Our heartfelt gratitude to the coaches, parents and the school administration for the valuable support that made their competition successful! See you in September for the sparring events. In behalf of the students, faculty and staff of Beaconhouse St. Paul, congratulations once again to Princess Zuleyka Aninon, Red Enzo Rubi, Jai Zmik Daryl Ragay and Xander Palacpac. Go Go Paladins!
